I have an older, good quality sofa with integrated legs. It originally had a skirt. The first time I made a slipcover for it, I took off the skirt and made it skirtless. For its third life, I would like to change the legs and make it a little higher. Is it possible to cut off the integrated legs and put on the fittings to accept one of the plethora of screw-in legs available? I would appreciate anyone's expertise.

Hi Jill-
I was going to respond that I am planning on doing the same thing on a chair and ottoman.  I'm going to do the ottoman first, see how that works out, and I'd let you know.  But then when I saw you posted in April, I figured you've done it already (or decided not to).  Hoping you get an email re: my posting and will let me know how it went or if you didn't do it, why not.
Thanks-
Lori
